Beginning this weekend, St. Mary’s is privileged to welcome Deacon Matthew Tomeny, MIC for diaconate ministry. Deacon Matthew is a professed brother of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception; completing his priestly formation in Washington, DC. He is also co-sponsored by the Archdiocese for the Military Services as a chaplain candidate for the United States Navy. Thank you for welcoming Deacon Matthew to St. Mary's.
This weekend is Commitment Weekend for the Archdiocese of Washington Annual Appeal. Many of you know the good that the Annual Appeal does for our parish and local church; and how your donation each year supports more than 70 ministries. Rather than making a commitment in the pews, we are asking all our families to make a commitment this year from home. The easiest way to make a commitment is by going to the Annual Appeal website
HERE. Thank you again for your faithful support of the Church through the Annual Appeal and nourishing the Church in mind and body.
Is it manly to pray? Who do some men feel discouraged from praying, as though prayer is unmanly? Men of the parish are invited to join Fr. Fields for our
Into the Breachgathering
tomorrow morning, February 6, at 7:30 AM to discuss how prayer expresses itself in the life of a spiritual warrior. First-timers and friends are always welcome. Join us with the Zoom meeting link,

Sunday, February 14 at 12:30 pm. Join us in prayer to Our Blessed Mother,

Lent begins on
Ash Wednesday, February 17. Ash Wednesday is a holy day but it is NOT a holy day of obligation.
Masses will be offered at 7 AM, 12:10 PM, and 7 PM. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. During this time of pandemic, we will not impose ashes on the forehead in the sign of the Cross. Instead, ashes will be sprinkled above the individual’s head so that immediate contact is avoided. This is an ancient practice of the Church still used in many countries. Please be assured that there is no obligation to receive ashes.
