In these weeks of Ordinary Time, the Gospels inform us that Jesus is drawing huge crowds where ever he goes. Jesus continues to speak to all of us in parables. Sometimes it is difficult to understand the meaning and the purpose of why Jesus speaks to us in parables. It is our role to keep straight the path of seeking Christ in the Eucharist and reaching out for a relationship with Him in daily prayer.
Bishop Robert Barron recently wrote,
"God doesn't love us because we are worthy. We're worthy because He loves us.
We don't deserve His mercy but we soak it up and thereby are transformed."
Go and be that "worthy" man or woman with Catholic virtues in our lives each day.
RCIA Congratulations! Over the past academic year, all those in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) and RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) have been growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ and preparing to receive the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation). Due to the pandemic and the closure of churches, the candidates were not able to come into the Church as planned at the Easter Vigil. They will receive their sacraments this weekend at a special Mass just for them. Please welcome them to the St. Mary’s Parish Family!
