Please join us for History Day at St. Mary's Parish on September 21st!
We will be hosting a History Day in honor of the parish's 200th Anniversary on Saturday, September 21, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the parish hall. The event will feature the debut of a new book written especially for the anniversary by parishioner Roger Langley, History of St. Mary's Parish, 1813-2013, Celebrating 200 Years of Catholic Faith in Rockville, Maryland.
The day will include the following: tours of the main church, historic chapel and adjacent cemetery, site of the grave of the noted author, F. Scott Fitzgerald; a light lunch; and talks by Mr. Langley and Monsignor Robert Amey, the current pastor of St. Mary's. Mr. Langley will also be available to sign copies of his book, which will be for sale at $20.00 per copy.
Parking is available. St. Mary's is a short walk from the Rockville Metro (Red Line) and Ride-on.

Schedule for History Day: 10:00 a.m. Registration and welcome in the parish hall
10:15 a.m. Tours of the current church building, Our Lady's Chapel, and the parish cemetery (Two groups will be formed)
11:30 a.m. Return to the parish hall for break/ book signing
12:00 p.m. Light lunch (no charge)
12:45 p.m. Monsignor Robert Amey, the current pastor of St. Mary's, delivers a talk on the history of Catholicism in Maryland
